Matchday 20 of the 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier league was graced with some interesting fixtures as teams tend to fight for all three points in their quest for the league title and survival in the league is concerned.

This weekend’s attention was shifted to the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday for the Superclash encounters between Accra-based club, Accra Hearts of Oak and defending champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko which also doubled up as the president cup.

However, the action started on Saturday when Dreams FC shared honours with Karela United at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

Whereas King Faisal continued the great form since their choice in using the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex as home grounds as they faced Accra-based club, Accra Great Olympics who had impressive results over its regional rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on matchday 19.

Goals from Baba Yahaya and Samuel Adom Antwi in the first and second department of the game were enough for the Insha Allah Boys to grab all three points over the wonder boys as they escaped the relegation zone with 24 points, just a point into the zone.

The action continued on Sunday when all eyes and attention were sent to the Accra Sports Stadium. It was the clash of the Titans as the two biggest clubs in the country battle it out for the second time in the 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier League and the fight for the President cup as Ghana celebrates its 66th year of independence.

The very intense game saw both teams moving into the first break with no goal to their credit making both teams very cautious to concede first.

The second action was underway as the visiting team looked promising until a magnificent header from Konadu Yiadom gave the home team the lead and eventually was enough to separate the two giants as the home team was president with the president cup as their chase for the title is still on course.

Elsewhere, league leaders, Aduana Stars were shocked by newcomers FC Samatex 1996 as their unbeaten run was brought to a halt as the Ogya boys dropped all three points away from home.

However, they still sit on top of the league with 36 points just 2 points from Accra Lions who are second.
