It’s the time of the year again when footballers around the Globe are awarded based on their performance of the year under review.

This year saw Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Karim Benzema battle it out for the highest category of the FIFA award as the FIFA men’s Player of the year.

Starting with the goalkeeper of the year for the men’s category, Argentina shot stopper Elmiliano Martinez was adjudged the FIFA best Goalkeeper of the year, after an impressive performance with his side winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the best goalkeeper of the competition.

With the Argentines sweeping all awards tonight, Head coach of the La Albiceleste, Lionel Scaloni was adjudged the best FIFA men’s Coach of the year, after an impressive performance leading his men under his supervision to win the just-ended 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The ultimate category saw Paris Saint-German superstar, Lionel Messi win the FIFA Men’s Player of the year after a spectacular performance from the Argentine skipper.

Messi’s dominance with the La Albiceleste in the just-ended 2020 FIFA World Cup, gave him an upper hand over Real Madrid and France Forward, Karim Benzema and Paris Saint-German and France youngster Kylian Mbappe, who was adjudged the best player in the just ended 2022 FIFA world cup in Qatar.

An award which saw most football lovers bring up the debate of the GOAT.
