Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, will engage the Mexico national team in an international friendly on May 22, 2026, as part of preparations towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match will be the third and final warm-up fixture for the Black Stars ahead of the mundial, following earlier friendlies against Austria and Germany in March.

Head Coach Otto Addo is expected to use the encounter to fine-tune his tactical approach and assess the readiness of his squad before the commencement of the tournament.

Mexico, one of the host nations for the 2026 World Cup, will also use the friendly to prepare for their opening Group fixture against South Africa on June 11.

Ghana will begin their Group L campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before taking on England and Croatia in subsequent matches.

The venue for the friendly in Mexico is yet to be announced.

The match is anticipated to offer both sides the opportunity to make final adjustments and build momentum ahead of the global tournament.
