Libyan giants Al Ahly SC have completed the signing of in-form Ghanaian striker Albert Amoah ahead of the 2025–26 season.
The Benghazi-based club announced the deal on Friday, confirming that the 23-year-old will join their squad to boost their attacking firepower. Amoah, who was part of Asante Kotoko’s 5–1 loss to Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Confederation Cup, is expected to fly to Libya this weekend to undergo his medicals.
Amoah joined Asante Kotoko from Accra Great Olympics last year and quickly became a fan favourite in Kumasi. He ended the 2024–25 campaign as the club’s top scorer, netting 15 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions.
The prolific forward also played a key role in Kotoko’s FA Cup triumph, scoring three goals in four matches during their title run.
Before his move, Amoah had already started the current season in fine form scoring four goals in six matches, including a memorable brace against Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers.
His impressive displays have now earned him a big move to North Africa, where he’ll be looking to make his mark in the Libyan Premier League.
