The Bafana Bafana forward (21) has been subject to interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates over recent months too.

According to the official MLS website, Hlongwane will be added to Minnesota’s squad as a ‘U22 Initiative’ signing once the deal has been officially completed.

The news of Hlongwane’s imminent switch to the MLS comes a day after Maritzburg chairperson Farook Kadodia confirmed interest in the player from several European clubs.

The forward made six Bafana appearances, with his two international goals coming against Uganda and Ghana, respectively

Official announcement expected in the coming days from the MLS outfit.
