Arsenal football club striker Eddie Nketiah was on the dial for Ghana as far as talent identification for the senior national team was on.
Tarig Lamptey, Inaki Williams, Mohammed Salisu, and others managed to answer the call for the Black Stars of Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, however, a chase by the Ghana Football Association for Eddie Nketiah was on as the young player chose England over Ghana.
According to Nketiah, choosing England over Gahan was the right decision because he felt it was the natural progression for his career. He said ahead of their international game.
“It was the option on the table and I think it was the option that came naturally and I aspired to play here, so whether there were options on the table or not it was difficult to turn down something in which I think it’s a natural progression for myself at this stage and I feel now it’s the time to take that step and I’m really happy to be here and proud to be here – he said.
