However, In his first season, he immediately broke into the first team of the Blues leading them to 2020/2021 UEFA Champions League success and being adjudged the best goalkeeper of the competition.
Mendy however lost his spot in the Chelsea team after his return from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar resulting in a finger injury.
