Aduana Stars are setting their sights on a strong finish in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season as the club continues to invest heavily in its playing squad. The Dormaa-based side, two-time league champions, believe sound financial management and squad stability will be key to reclaiming domestic glory.
Aduana Stars Chief Executive Officer, Atta Poku, has disclosed that the club spends close to GHS162,000 monthly on player salaries as part of efforts to build a financially strong and competitive side.
Speaking to Denkyiraman Radio, the CEO said Aduana Stars’ long-term vision is to become one of the best-managed and financially sustainable football clubs in Ghana within the next ten years.
“We spend almost GHS162,000 on players’ salaries. We want to be a well-financed club in the next 10 years. Our main motive is to finish in the top four and number one is also part of the top four,” Atta Poku said.
He further lauded the improved media coverage of the Ghana Premier League but expressed concern over the recent decision to restrict some radio stations from running live commentary.
“The coverage of the league has improved, but restricting some radio stations from doing commentary isn’t a good idea,” he lamented.
Atta Poku added that Aduana Stars remain confident about their title ambitions but will continue to take each game as it comes.
“We have the spirit and the character to win the league, but for now, we are focusing on one game at a time,” he noted.
