Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, has experienced a significant drop in the latest FIFA World Rankings after their recent games during the September international break.
During the opening games for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers, the Black Stars played against Angola and Niger. They lost 0-1 to Angola and drew 1-1 with Niger.
As a result, Ghana has dropped from 64th to 70th in the global rankings with 1360.43 points. Several countries, including Georgia, Burkina Faso, United Arab Emirates, Albania, and Cape Verde, have moved above Ghana in the rankings.
Ghana has also dropped two places in the continental ranking and now occupies the 14th position.
In the CAF rankings, Morocco has moved to the top, with Senegal dropping to second place. Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire, and Tunisia complete the top five.
