CHELSEA have reportedly opened talks to rehire Frank Lampard as manager.

The news comes after the club held talks with Luis Enrique about the vacant manager’s position at the club.

However, the club icon is believed to be ready to help the Blues on a short term basis after the sacking of Graham Potter.

According to a source Lampard could even take charge of the match against Wolves this weekend if talks go well.

The 44-year-old played for the club for over a decade, winning everything on offer.

After retiring, he then was the head coach at the club after a spell at Derby until he was sacked in 2021.

However a search for a replacement for the former gaffer, Graham Potter is still on as Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann lead the race.
