Former Black Stars Striker, Prince Tagoe has stated emphatically that, wearing the national team jersey is not about making a fat pocket but an honour.

The former Ghana premier league top scorer broke his silence on the $25m brouhahas towards Black stars participation in Afcon and World cup 2022 respectively.

” During my time with the Black Stars, our focus was to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians but not making money at the expense of the vulnerable Ghanaian”, He told Angel tv.

“Majority of the players are making more money in their respective clubs in Europe than the money they receive in the national team so their focus shouldn’t be playing for money but making the nation proud when they get the chance to wear the national team jersey”. He added.

The former Accra Hearts of oak forward stressed that the government should focus on priorities that will affect the country positively but not to make enemies for the Black stars with such a fat budget.
