Asante Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah has attributed poor performance from Kotoko players at Baba Yara sports stadium to rampant impatience and strongly-worded insults from vociferous Kotoko supporters.

The Porcupine Warriors have trailed twice in a month to city rivals, King Faisal at Baba Yara sports stadium and in response, Nana Yaw Amponsah said “Kotoko supporters should forgive me on this but rampant pressure and strong-worded insults from them on players at Baba Yara sports stadium, put panic and excessive pressure on players”.

“Look the goal Baba Yahaya scored against us in the FA cup, he wasn’t under any pressure. Mfegue and Amankonah got the same goal-scoring chance but they missed the target due to rampant pressure from supporters at Baba Yara sports stadium” he added.

The CEO also reiterated his discontent about “Juju”(Ways and means) in winning matches.

“Is not always about putting a substance on the pitch to win matches, last season we passed the long route on our way to Dormaa Ahenkro to honour a Ghana premier league game against Aduana Stars.
We started the match with 10 players instead of 11 and we eventually drew the game”

He concluded by appealing to Kotoko supporters to desist from putting excessive pressure and panic on players through their actions at the Baba Yara sports stadium.
