Techiman XI Wonders has succumbed to a slim defeat to Ghanaian giants, Accra Hearts of oak at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman.
The 20 times Ghana premier league champions dominated possession at the initial stages over the host, went ahead to take the lead in the 26th minute through Kojo Obeng Jnr from Tetteh Nortey’s novice back pass.
The match generated intense controversy a few minutes after the visitors lead. Frank Amankwah of XI wonders close-range shot hit the hand of Robert Addo Sowah but the official, Latif Adaari denied the host that penalty.
The Phobians came back from recess, defended well and eventually grabbed the maximum three points at the expense of the host, Techiman XI Wonders.
The Ghanaian giants have recorded their fourth consecutive victory and for the first time in five years, climbed the apex of the Ghana premier league table with 46 points.
