Owing to the disastrous AFCON 2021 outfit, the sports ministry summoned the leadership of GFA for an emergency meeting.

In a long-hour meeting held on Friday, Jan 21 2022 between the sports minister, Hon Mustapha Yussif and GFA leadership led by Kurt Simon Okraku, the Sports ministry directed the FA to:

  1. Reconstitute the Black Stars management team.
  2. Review the work and capacity of the Black Stars technical team led by Serbian tactician, Milovan Rajevac.

Barely 24 hours after that marathon meeting, the GFA has terminated the contract of Milovan Rajevac after 5 months in charge as Black Stars coach. He would be paid $90,000 as 3 months salary.

A caretaker coach would be named within the week to steer affairs of the 2022 World cup qualifying playoff in March.

Ghana witnessed an outrageous outing in AFCON 2021 after a loss to Morocco and Comoros and a 1-1 stalemate with Gabon to amass just a point.
