The monetary value in our local league has been a tall mountain to climb. However many stakeholders have also contributed their quota as they hope that, ahead of the 2023/2024 Betpawa Premier League campaign the cash rewards for the clubs should be increased.

However, the president of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Kurt E. S Okraku has also ensured the increase of the cash prices ahead of the upcoming season though a lot of people believe that is not enough will ensure that the quality players within the local scene are maintained.

According to Mr. George Afriyie who is aspiring to be the president of the Ghana Football Association in the upcoming general election. He believes if voted into power one of his priority is to ensure that Premier League clubs will not earn more than $100,000.

“When I am voted as Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, in my first month of office, Premier League clubs will earn not less than $100, 000,” he said on Asempa FM on the Ultimate Sports Show.

“I believe that by giving the clubs good money, players will be paid well and the mass exodus can end.

“If a Ghana Premier League player earns $1000 as a monthly salary, that player will stay and play,” he added.

He also assured that Division One League clubs will also be given not less than Ghc100,000.

“I am not focusing only on the Premier League because the Division One League clubs must also be given good money.

“I will ensure that each Division One League earns not less than Ghc100,000,” he added.

However, the 2023 Ghana Football Association (GFA) Elective Congress is expected to be held on September 27 in Tamale in the Northern Region.
