Baba Yara Sports Stadium (Kumasi) has finally been approved by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) after a successful check of the Stadia.
The Stadia (40,523 capacity) which was recently renovated were not up to the standard proposed by CAF, however, consideration was made all in respect to the world cup playoff between Ghana and Nigeria in March last year. Hence more improvements to the facilities have been made and have now been approved by CAF, with all Stadia in the country initially rejected except for Cape Coast Stadium which was due to host the game.
Baba Yara is the preferred home ground for Blackstar’s games, however, CAF is considering allowing Baba Yara Host Ghana’s AFCON qualifiers against Angola.
