Kumasi Asante Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah has challenged any staunch supporter of the club to have confidence in the team towards their CAF champions league 2nd leg qualification encounter with Al Hilal Omdurman in Sudan.

“The circumstances Kotoko currently find itself participating in Africa if I knew that will be the circumstances I would have insisted we don’t go but I was of the strongest conviction that the circumstances will be better to enable us to compete but am assuring all Kotoko fans that we are down we are not out, people are creating an impression that Kotoko will be axed in the 2nd leg.
Meanwhile, we defeated Etoile du Sahel by 2 goals to nothing in Kumasi but got eliminated in the 2nd leg. There have been times we won the first leg here and still gone away to lost. Recently Manchester united defeated Psg and also got defeated by the latter at home.
This Sudanese side (Al hilal Omdurman) we saw here isn’t any strong side, we can also go there and beat them, maybe playing away will raise the performance of the players. At Mauritania didn’t we score an early goal after all that the referee did they couldn’t defeat us.
therefore we shouldn’t create an impression that we are already out”.
He told Kumasi based Oyerepa FM.

Asante Kotoko endured a slim defeat to Sudanese giants Al Hlal Omdurman at Accra sports stadium but is very determined to qualification in Sudan in the 2nd leg of the Caf champions league qualifying round. The match is expected to come off on January 5th, 2021.
