Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Ghana – Volta, Eric Eli Adzie has pledged to support the growth of Volta Cricket.

Speaking as Guest at a get-together by the Volta Cricket Association, in honour of their U-17 & U-15 players in Ho, the GBC Broadcaster says he’s impressed with the progress made so far by the Association.

“It’s a joy to me that young ones like you are playing, to the extent that one of you had the opportunity to travel to Indian. This is a huge achievement although couldn’t materialise, it tells me we have a bright future in Volta. I promise I’ll start following Cricket after what I’ve seen. I will always available to aid, to provide a way and if there are any constraints.”

Secretary of the Volta Cricket, Victor Tetteh as part of the Get-together gave a PowerPoint presentation of how far Cricket has come in the region with various activities held which impressed the Swag-Volta Chairman.

Eric, who is the Public Relations Officer of the Volta Regional Football Association and the ‘Volta Sports Facts’ Anchor also advised the young Cricketers on the advantages of Social Media, touching on discipline.

“I want to encourage you to keep training you’ll make it. The good hallmark of a sportsman is discipline. You can go far with Cricket but indiscipline will bring you back. Be ambassadors as well for the sport in the region. Social Media is a powerful tool and sells, so be posting about Cricket and promote it and make people know you’re a Cricketer.”

The Volta Cricket Association after a 2-day Talent Enhancement in November, begun regular training Wednesday & Thursday at the Ola SHS Park every week.

The party, held at the OLA SHS Assembly Hall in Ho, on December 30, 2020, was attended by some Executive of the Association as well as some Coaches.

Meanwhile, the Association birthed in March 2014, plans a bigger 2021 including a Quarterly Journal to tell their own story to the public and seeks for Sponsorship from Individuals and Corporate Bodies to help achieve this target.
