Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs picked up a vital away point at the Accra Sports Stadium against Olympics in an outstanding Christmas Eve encounter.

With impressive results recently in the Ghana Premier League, Olympics’ lead in the 12′ minutes was cancelled by Dwarfs.

Charles Danso put the home side in the lead after connecting a corner kick by captain Gladson Awako.

The travellers did not rest but fought hard to cut short the excitement from the home side, getting an equalizer 2 minutes later, through Obed Bentum.

Both teams came into the second half with a winning mentality but the Olympics needed the win more to claim the summit of the table again before the Christmas break.

Dwarfs, on the other hand, wanted a draw or another second away win to lift themselves from danger spot.

It was a midfield game as both teams were holding their defence firm not to concede any last-minute goal. Experienced Nii Sackey, Jamal Deen Haruna among other defenders saved the day for the Old boys.

The brace scorer against Legon Cities Benjamin Acquah was a delight to watch as he kept frustrating the old boys from midfield to wings.

Gladson Awako on the other hand was tactically marked preventing him from making the usual turning and netting a goal for his side but eventually picked his fourth Man of the Match accolade.

Olympics, with 11 points now, are joint leaders (2nd) same as Karela and 3rd place Bechem United while Dwarfs sit 9th below Hearts and Kotoko all with 8 points.
