Ghanaian striker Hans Kwofie has tragically lost his life in a car accident in Dadwen, in the Ashanti region, on Friday.

The 35-year-old footballer was on his way to his hometown of Dompim Pepesa when the accident occurred, resulting in his immediate death, according to Ghanasoccernet.

Kwofie gained prominence in the Ghana Premier League, particularly for his remarkable performance in 2017 when he emerged as the league’s top scorer with 17 goals for AshantiGold. Known for his strength, agility, and technical prowess, Kwofie was adept at launching counterattacks from both the right and left wings.

Recently, Kwofie had been without a club since parting ways with Nepali side Birgunj United in February of this year. His football career began at Nsoatre Manchester United and saw him play for several Ghanaian clubs, including Medeama, Aduana FC, and Legon Cities.

Kwofie’s talent also took him abroad, where he played for Qatari club Al-Oruba, Egypt’s Smouha SC, Tanzania’s Singida United, and Malaysian side Puchong Fuerza.
