The third game of matchday 31 of the 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier League season and eventually the last game for the day was underway at the Accra Sports Stadium under floodlight as league leaders Aduana Stars faced Accra-based club Accra Lions away from home.

With the Ogya Boys hoping to extend their gap on the league log after Bechem United’s win over Legon Cities earlier today, which slimed the title race to just a point was bottled as they were shocked by Accra Lions at home.

However, the game didn’t start well for the visiting side as the home team took the advantage to bounce back to their good form after slipping off the top-four spot last month.

Accra Lions tactical approach worked perfectly well as they looked dangerous on the ball as they continued to press the Ogya Boys till they had the opener in the 28th minute through Baba Salifu Apiiga which took them to the break. As Aduana Stars went back to the drawing board hoping to change the narrative.

The second department started well for the visiting team but eventually, the home team took charge again as Evans Botchway made it two for the home team in the 75th minute making them more comfortable to push for more in the game.

The Ogya Boys looked lost again as Bassit Seidu gave his side the third goal in the last 10 minutes of the game which was enough to grab them all a maximum of three points as they moved to the 5th spot on the league log whereas the Aduana Stars title race looks lost after dropping vital points away from home.

The action continues tomorrow as Accra-based club Accra Hearts of Oak will host Medeama SC and eventually end on Monday as Kotoku Royals will fave defending champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
