The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed its awards in a ceremony held in Morocco on Thursday.

Senegal and Moroccan side Wydad de Casablanca were named national team and club of the year respectively.

The Bayern Munich new signing produced a strong performance with Senegal, leading them to win the Africa Cup of Nations title, and he was instrumental in his country’s campaign in the World Cup qualifiers that saw them reach the world tournament at the expense of Egypt.

At the club level, he scored 23 goals in 51 appearances with his former club Liverpool, helping the Premier League side win the FA and the EFL Cups.

This is the second time for the Senegalese player to win the CAF award after his achievement in 2019.

Women Player of the Year: Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria & Barcelona)

Men Coach of the Year: Aliou Cisse (Senegal)

Women Coach of the Year: Desiree Ellis (South Africa)

The goal of the year: Pape Ousmane Sakho (Senegal & Simba)

Women Young Player of the Year: Evelyn Badu (Ghana & Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies/Alvaldsnes)

Men Interclub Player of the Year: Mohamed El Shenawy (Egypt & Al Ahly)

Women Interclub Player of the Year Evelyn Badu (Ghana & Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies/Alvaldsnes)

Men Club of the Year: Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco)

Women Club of the Year : Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)
