The Royal Moroccan football federation has complained to Ghana about what they term fielding players whose ages are above the category concerned (U17).

The Moroccan U17 women’s team succumbed to a 2:0 defeat to Ghana Black Maidens at the Accra sports stadium in the 1st leg of the last qualifying round of the U17 women’s world cup.

Stella Nyamekye and Nancy Amoh scored for Ghana in the 18th and 65th minutes respectively.

In a post-match presser, the Moroccan gaffer attributed the defeat to poor pitch, weather and environment and expressed his optimism about qualifying ahead of Ghana.

According to a Moroccan sports media, DM Sport “The FRMF has lodged a reservation against Ghana which would have fielded players whose age is higher than the category concerned (U17)”

“This match which was played yesterday in Accra and which saw Morocco lose 2-0, is part of the last qualifying round for the CDM”.

Morocco is expected to host Ghana in the reverse fixture in the coming weeks.
