Kumasi Asante Kotoko trailed by 1-2 to RTU at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium in week 25 of 2021/22 Ghana premier league.

The Porcupine warriors responded with an intense determination for an equalizer but Hearts of oak loanee, Victor Aidoo doubled the lead for the host through a header in the 79th minute.

Cameroonian, Franck Etouga Mbella had a consolation for the away side through a penalty in the 82nd minute after he(Mbella) was brought down in the box by the host goalkeeper, Osei Yaw.

The Ghanaian giants lead the league table with 52 points and have extended the points gap to 7, adrift second placed team Bechem United despite the loss to RTU.

However, Defending champions, Accra Hearts of oak were held by relegation candidates Elmina Sharks by 1-1 stalemate at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Former FC Basel player, Samuel Inkoom scored his first goal for the Phobians in the 2nd minute with a “Super” freekick.

Sharks responded strongly to get an equalizer in the 28th minute through Emmanuel Asamoah.

Hearts of oak dropped points once again after trailing to their rivals Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in the previous week and now at the 7th position with 37 points, 15 points below Kotoko on top of the league table.

Clearly the Phobians have to concentrate on the FA cup where they have booked their semi finals ticket to lock horns with Dreams FC at the Accra sports stadium in a yet to decide date.
