Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates are considering a new shot-stopper due to rampant errors committed by Ghanaian international, Richard Ofori.
Ofori was considered as a direct replacement to 37-year-old Wayne Sandilands who is nearing retirement from active football but the PSL giants might sign a top goalkeeper before the transfer deadline due to inconsistencies affiliated with Richard Ofori in posts.
The latest error which has subjected the Ghanaian to public backlash is the goal gifted to Namibian international Ruzaigh Gamildien in an Mtn8 quarterfinals game against Moroka Swallows at Orlando stadium. The latter proceeded to the Semifinals at the expense of Pirates after a 2-1 win.
Ex PSL goalkeeper Aime Kitenge has suggested to the Soweto giants to go for a top goalkeeper who will be consistent in posts.
“His consistency has been an issue so I am not convinced, when you play for a team like Pirates, you should be consistent and that means you have to deliver top-notch performances in every game that you play”. He told Kickoff.com
“I wasn’t convinced of his first season at Pirates so I suggest Pirates need a goalkeeper who will remain on top of his game regularly” Kitenge added.
