After the Zimbabwe government through his investigations realised that the rate at which corruption has illuded the Zimbabwe Football Association , the government has decided to step in and take total adminstrative role amidst knowing very well that FIFA rules detest governments from interfering in the duties of it’s member Association.

The hierarchy of the ZIFA has been involved in serious scandal which among them was squandering the $53,000 dollars given to them at the previous AFCON.

Not only that, the government also found out that the national team players were not treated right regardless of the huge investment the government makes at every tournament for all levels and genders. This has even led to the early retirement of Kamat Billiat who due to the poor welfare of national team players

The practice of bribery from players before they are given the chance to dawn the national colours and also officials who vote to select the ZIFA executives were influenced with money.

All these exposé had compelled the government to intervene and bring out lasting solutions to all these problems.

Despite the government’s positive reasons for its intervention, the dissolution of the ZIFA and taking total control of the day to day administrational duties by the government may seem to FIFA as interference which FIFA frowns on and could lead to a ban.
