The call for Ghanaians to various match venues has been a topic for discussion on most platforms, in which solutions to these problems are being hunted for.
Some stakeholder believes the quality of the league has to warrant the low attendance of people at match venues while the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt E.S Okraku believes it’s the main responsibility of the clubs to promote the league.
However, a Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Vincent Sowah Odotei has refuted the claim that it’s the mandate of the clubs to promote the league.
According to him, you cannot promote a dead product and expect results.
“Football must entertain, our game is not fit for purpose and you cannot force people to come to watch a game which is dry and not exciting while people have other competing social that is much more exciting, so the FA and regulator of the game must sit up and come up with some plans and rules to ensure that the league become very competitive,” he said
He added that “I know it’s very challenging but they must be able to think and come up with something because the lack of people at the stadia is not a new thing, it has been happening for the past 15 years and this is the responsibility of the FA, you can’t promote a dead product, we are doing our best”
