Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. George Afriyie has confirmed his appeal to the disqualification of him from running for the highest portfolio as the president of the Ghana Football Association.
With the injunction from the Court due to the electoral process used by the FA, a boy of disqualification was sent to Mr George Afriyie which did enable him to run for the election, however, he was given an ultimatum of three days to appeal the decision.
According to Mr. Afriyie, the team has however appealed for the deal on Friday and they hope to wait for positive feedback by the close of the day. He told Accra-based station Peace FM.
“Yes I have responded as of last Friday even though the law gives us permission up to today 5 pm to respond I filed a notice of appeal and Friday and gave grounds of appeal,” he said.
“Today we have added additional grounds to it so as far as I am concerned we have appealed and paid the appeal fee,” he added.
The 2023 GFA Elections have been embroiled in a lot of issues. King Faisal bankroller Alhaji Grusah has placed an injunction on the elections due to his disagreement with the procedure of the election.
