Minority leader, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has attributed the AFCON fiasco to the high expectations in a team engulfed with 17 debutants.
Deliberating on the floor of parliament concerning the AFCON disappointment in the presence of the Sports Minister, Mustapha Yussif, Hon. Haruna said
“Mr Speaker, our expectations were too high as a country, what is the nature of Black stars today? He quizzes.
“We went to a tournament with 17 debutants who are yet to have a feel of the tournament so why raise expectations”
“Do we have players like Tony Yeboah, Abedi Pele and Samuel Osei Kuffour in the team, No!”
“You have 17 debutants who have not tasted the tournament before, so why raise expectations” he reiterated.
Owing to the Black Stars disastrous outfit at the AFCON in Cameroon, Serbian tactician, Milovan Rajevac has been sacked as Black Stars coach and the management committee dissolved pending a reconstitution by GFA.
