Settling debts of sportsmanship within the various national teams has been a huge bridge that needs to be crossed in other to facilitate the growth of our football.
About that, the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mustafa Yussif has revealed that Ghana still owes two former gaffers of the senior national team, thus C.K Akonnor and Milovan Rajevac after the termination of their contracts.
He made this statement earlier today at the Ministry of Information when he was briefing the media on the necessary plans of the government as far as sports is concerned.
“We still owe Milovan Rajevac,” he said.
“All of C.K and Milovan, once their contract was terminated, we sat with them, negotiated their exit and C.K was paid $100,000 immediately after the negotiation same as Milovan.
“We still owe both of them and we have a payment scheduled which I will admit we have not followed because of constraints of funds.
As and when we get funds, we will be paying the two coaches.
He also revealed that both coaches have planned to take the matter to court however we pleaded with them so we can settle those pending issues as soon as possible.
“Both of them have written to the Ghana Football Association threatening to go to court,”.
“We have appealed to them that we are committed to making sure we settle whatever we have agreed with them.”- he added.
