After the qualification of the Black Meteors to the U-23 Total African Cup of Nations in Morocco, and subsequently the Olympic games in Paris, most people have added their thoughts on the progress of the game.

The head of communications of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has added his input to the progress of the team. According to him, this is a great achievement after trying out this on so many occasions without succeeding.

“First of all, we thank Ghanaians for their support, this road has not been easy, the long-term target is to qualify for the Olympic games since 2004. We were worried about the number of times we have failed as a country under various captains and coaches but at the end of the day, there are various reasons we can attribute this to our inability to qualify for the previous four editions of the Olympic games. – he said.

He added that we have a good squad which gives clear signs that the future is bright.

“ I think we have a very good squad, luckily for us, we will have the tournament in a very good year. And if we can get all our U-23 players who are still available on board, From Kudus, Kamaldeen, Salis, Felix Afena Gyan etc, all the players who are in the Blackstars as a long-term project we will go a long way”.
