The Tennis Foundation Ghana, under the auspices of Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), hits the Volta Region, Ho, for the U-18 Tennis Tournament at the Ho Tennis Court.

The tournament which will visit each of the 16 regions in Ghana, is purposed to select best players for a grand National International Tennis Federation ITF U-18 tournament in Accra for further preparation for the International Tennis Federation (ITF) U-18 Junior World Tour.

With three (3) regions (Ashanti, Western & Northern) already done, with their Tournament a week ago, that in Ho will run concurrently with another at Bono Region.

Head of Media for Tennis Foundation Ghana, Gabriel Amoakoh, tells Herosportsgh, they always believe there are quality players outside Accra and they intend to scout them to make Ghana proud.

“This tournament is not going to focus on the total number of players that will turn up but the quality players that will be available. We expect all the players to come with their ‘A’ game because we always believe there are talents outside Accra, who haven’t gotten the opportunity. We don’t only need players in Accra to make Ghana proud but others outside Accra. It must be noted, that there will be no prize money for the winners but other prizes like trophies.”

The Ho Tennis Club are however poised to line up their best youngsters for the 1-day event which begins at 8:00 am on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Tennis Foundation Ghana, organizers of U-18 tournaments are sponsored by Second Serve Tennis Shop and the Ho Tennis Club.

Ghana, having participated in three (3) ITF tournaments and won once (the doubles, at the Accra J5 ITF Juniors in August 2019), is currently on their maiden regional tour, and has scheduled the ITF U-18 tournament for 29th March through to 10th April 2021 in Accra.
