Ga-Dangme Unity Organization (GADUO), in their efforts to promote peace, before, during and after the upcoming General Elections have lined up several activities ahead of their scheduled maiden Awards Night at the Mcdan La Town Park on Saturday, November 28, 2020.
Crucial among the activities is the clash of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) vs Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) in a football match at the Mcdan La town Park on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at noon.
Accra Mayor, Hon. Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah and Tema Mayor, Hon. Felix Mensah Nii Anag-La, are expected to lead their respected Teams to victory, all in Uniting the people and promoting Peace.
Another exciting Football match to watch out for is that between All Christians in Ga-Dangme Communities and All Zongo communities in a Unity Cup Final clash at 3 pm, on the same day and venue.
MMDCE’s, Traditional rulers, and other high-profile personalities from various Municipal Assemblies are also expected to grace the Sunday Football crucial. Also to be present include, Hon. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Hon. Alhassan S. Tampuli, Hon Hajia Alima Mahama, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Hon. Henry Quartey among others from the Muslim fraternity.
Speaking to Herosportgh, Dr Edward Coleman, who is the Organiser of the GADUO, says they want to gradually get off an Unprecedented Awards Night with these activities while promoting Peace.
“We have scheduled for Cards playing, Volleyball, Basketball & Football activities, probably by Saturday. These activities will unite the people as they go on. We will be glad seeing the two Mayors on the pitch because their presence on the pitch will further push the Peace Agenda we are advocating for. This Awards Night will be unprecedented because we have really taken our time and gradually hyping it.”
The Awards Night dubbed ‘Youth and Sports Festival & Tourism Special Awards Night’ which is to honour deserving men & women, as well as groups within the Ga-Dangme Communities is expected to further strengthen their Unity motivate and improve the individual and organizational contribution to the growth and promotion of the entire Ga-Dangme Communities and Ghana as a whole.
While Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority (CODA), Hon. Jerry Ahmed Shaib is elated to power the Sunday Matchday clashes, the Dinner and Awards Night slated for November 28, is sponsored by the Office of the President, H.E. Nana Akuffo Addo.
