The defending champions of the Women’s FA cup are yet again representing in this year’s Final. The sekondi giants won on their first attempt at the finals last year while on the road to make history, they got paired with the originators of womens football in Ghana ‘Ashtown ladies’.

At the end of the 90 minutes, the ‘Doooo’ ladies had booked the last slot in the finale by winning 2-0. Success Ameyaa got her side in the lead through a spot kick which resulted from Veronica Darkwas’ foul on Doris Boaduwaa in the 18 yard box. Referee Barichisu Salifu didn’t hesitate in whistling for a penalty and Success did capitalize on this advantage for her team.

Veronica Appiah added another to make it 2 to solidify their win in the dying minutes of the game. The kumasi based club will head back North with regrets but playing against the best in the country and the 3rd best by IFFHS ranking in Africa was not an easy task , on the other hand their performance and the never say did spirit won them many accolades among supporters in the capital city.
