The General Secretary of GFA has debunked the rumoured assertion of a prospered flagship BetPawa Premier league following court orders

In a writ making waves of an interlocutory injunction served by the Accra High Court to the GFA with Ashanti Gold SC being the applicant, it was likely that the league won’t commence as planned

Speaking on the matter, the general secretary of the Football Federation debunked the rumour

“The league is starting as planned. Teams are at various venues and are organizing for the start of the first games. Nothing will change”
he said

It could be recalled that Ashanti Gold SC is facing a demotion to the third tier from the mother association as allegations of betting in a game of the 2020/2021 Premier League season proved truthful

As a way of getting relief, the club feels an injunction on the incoming 2022/2023 Premier League could be a catalyst but it seems it’s a weak option.

Premier League kick starts on 10/09/2022.
