Former Blackstars player Derrick Boateng has urged the Ghana Football Association and its stakeholders to invest in youth football.

According to the 40 years old retired footballer, the Blackstars can only thrive if we pay much attention to football at our juvenile level.

” If our Black Stars will be good in the future, it depends on the U17, the youth football, the grass root football. Nobody cares about them”- he told Joysports.

However, Ghana Football Association has in the past month improved their love for juvenile football as they tend to unearth talents at the early stage.

He added that the Ghana Football Association under Mr. Kurt E.S Okraku, needs to invest more in Juvenile football, which is the surest way to harvest great talent for the future.

“It’s about time the GFA leave the Black Stars alone and focus on juvenile football in the country.”
