Attendance at various match venues in our various leagues has been on the decline path, however, 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier League is not exceptional too. As a result, many football fans, stakeholders and bodies are hoping to find the antidote to the low number of attendees in the stadiums.

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt E.S Okraku has also given his view as to how clubs will get their fans to their match venues.

According to him, the club should engage the fans in some related activities which will propel them to come to the stadiums during match days. This will ensure they keep the fans with them and awaken passive fans.

“You will accept the fact that the fan is an important partner of football with this reason any football Association must be interested in the active consumption of football by the people who love football and, in our country, I want to see all our stadia full on every matchday and I want to believe that every club owner also wants same to happen. That’s why it’s so important that our clubs should engage in a lot of fan-related activities to ensure they keep the fans with them, to reawaken the passive fans and to ensure that the very active ones are kept alive”- he said.

He added that, as an association, they are fully prepared as they hope to also put in their quota in ensuring fans get involved in local football.

“ It’s also important that the football associations roll out important strategies which will ensure that the fan is interested in domestic football and I think that the last few weeks our football Association has been proactive in getting the fans much closer to the sport”- he added
