After being involved in 6 matches in his first stint of the truncated 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season, member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Rustum Gameli Senorgbe has been appointed to officiate a Friday night football tie, between Legon Cities and Medeama SC in a week 3 fixture of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
Rustum, a Class one referee, satisfactorily handled 4 matches last season including a 2-1 MTN FA Cup victory for WAFA against Heart of Lions at Kpando on February 23, 2020.
He was also the centre referee for one of the most talked-about match last season; a 1-0 away win for Kumasi Asante Kokoto, at the Tarkwa Akoon Park against Karela Utd, a week 13 fixture on March 6.
Beginning the new season on November 14, Rustum was 4th Referee in Legon Cities’ 1-1 game against Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Legonites, having hired former Medeama & Ashgold gaffer, Bashir Hayford after sacking Serbian Barjaktarević would want to pick their first 3 points, having lost 3-0 to Olympics on Match Day 2.
A cagey encounter it will be, as Medeama SC also had 1 point from 2 matches; a 1-1 with Olympics on day 1, and a 2-1 loss, against Dreams at Dawu, will also be in search for the maximum points.
Rustum, who will be handling his 2 Legon Cities game will be assisted by Alex Osam & Emmanuel Dei with Jones Akubiem as 4th Referee. E.K Asante as the Match Commissioner.
The Ho based Referee has over the years in his Officiating Career exhibited consistency and ready to showcase more of his exploits in the Premier League while making SWAG proud.
The Legon Cities versus Medeama encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium, which kicks off at 6:00 pm, will be live on Startimes.
