Unity and the call for support for the various clubs in the country have been on course. The Kumasi-based club Kumasi Asante Kotoko also hoping to achieve that course, however, there have been some challenges over the past few years.
An issue of division between the supporters of the club as some parts tend to support the team and the other core support club officials.
A call to change that narrative has been on course after the appointment of the IMC of the club by His Royal Majesty Otumfou Nana Osei Tutu II last month.
Former player and legend of the club Opuku Nti has also urged the supporters of the club to throw their maximum support to the club and not individuals within the club.
“If you’re a true supporter, then you need to support the team, not the individual. Because every individual will go while the club remains”.
“If you are a true supporter, you will support the club, I know some support individuals because of what they will benefit from some top individuals in the club, but that does not make you a true supporter. As Otumfou said, we are to serve Kotoko and not individuals and if you are a true supporter, you need to abide by the rules of the club ” – he said.
