It was the clash of UEFA Europa League masters Sevilla and Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma as they go into battle for the UEL title.
It was the 2022/2023 UEFA Europa League final at the Pukas Arena.
With Jose’s men making it to a European final back to back after winning the maiden edition of the UEFA Conference league, Sevilla was also hoping to showcase their class as far as the UEL is concerned.
With both teams starting well in the first department of the game, made a lot of football lovers start up a conversation as they believe this is a tight contest, however, Dybala managed to give his side (AS Roma) the lead in the first department of the game through a wonderful strike on the 35th minute which however gave his side the advantage as they went into the break.
The second department however switched off from Roma as Sevilla continued to showcase their supremacy in the UEL competition they continued to mount pressure on Roma which eventually resulted in Mancini finding his net, which brought both teams back on level pairs.
The game continued to be a tag of war as the game headed into extra time.
However, the additional 30 minutes were not enough for the two sides which eventually resulted in the penalty shootout as Sevilla was able to pull through 4-1 on penalties as Mourinho’s men misses out on the UEL trophy.
Sevilla continues their record of not losing a UEFA Europa League final, making this their seventh title as they hand Jose Mourinho his first-ever loss in a cup final.
