It was the second leg exercise at Stamford Bridge as, London-based club, Chelsea hosted defending champions, Real Madrid in the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League Competition, as they seek to overturn their fortunes.

The Blues coming into the game down by 2 goals in their first encounter in Madrid, were hoping for a comeback as they seek to grab their 3rd UEFA Champions League title. The champions league which seems to be the only guarantor for the Blues to enjoy next season’s UCL football was bottled after a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Madrid.

The home team pushing hard in the first department of the game, missing out on most chances, left their comeback dream still in the dark as the first department of the game ended goalless.

The second department started well again for the home team as they dictated play, however, the visitors were gradually warming their feet back into the game.

An opening goal for the visitors from Rodrygo just 13th minutes into the second department eventually deepen their problems as the mountain to the last 4 for the Blues looked more difficult to climb.

The Los Blancos of Madrid doubled their lead through Rodrygo who also doubled his tally for the night in the 80th minute, eventually enough to end the drama in London, as Madrid books its place comfortably in the semi-finals awaiting the winner between Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
