Heated at the top of the table and messy at the bottom. Norwich City are rock bottom of the Premier League after heavy defeat to Arsenal. After appointing Dean Smith, the side have accumulated 5 points from their 8 games played under the new management. Staying up is beginning to look increasingly unlikely. Norwich finish the year on 10 points with a -35 goal difference.

Newcastle United also appointed a new manager in an experienced Eddie Howe after parting ways with Rafa Benitez. The now wealthiest Premier League club are 19th in the league on 11 points. A tough start to his reign at the club, Newcastle have played Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United Liverpool and Leicester City. The Magpies are looking forward to the January transfer window to give them a huge boost ahead of the second half of the season.

Burnley are another club burdened with postponed matches and Covid-19 cases. Sean Dyche’s side have 4 outstanding games. This puts them in a good position to drag in Leeds United who are also facing a rough time as well as Watford into the relegation party. They finish the first half of the season 18th with 11 points.

Although above the relegation zone, Watford and Leeds are treading on dangerous grounds, more Watford than Leeds. Although both have a few games in hand, both sides could do with victories to cement their exclusion from the scrap. The second half of the season is of huge importance to these 5 teams.

The season is not yet over. Over 15 games to be played. More drama to come. The fight to stay up is not yet OVER.
