Goalkeeper Danso Wiredu Mensah is banned for 2 years by the GFA disciplinary committee for involvement in match manipulation in the 2020/21 Ghana premier league match-week 34 encounters between AshantiGold SC and Inter Allies at the Obuasi Len Clay sports stadium.
The Ghana Airforce personnel, stationed in Takoradi was in post for Inter Allies in that fixed match and considered as a key network member in the match manipulation.
According to inter Allies player Mohammed Zakari, Danso Wiredu Mensah was part of the network of individuals and or players who acted to manipulate the match hence his obvious negligence and deliberate acts to allow the goals scored by AshantiGold players, he told GFA disciplinary committee.
The investigation committee noted in the video of the match that, Danso Wiredu Mensah deliberately conceded the second and the fourth goals scored by AshantiGold SC.
The disciplinary committee indicated in their report that, Goalkeeper Danso Wiredu Menash failed to appear before the committee to respond to the allegations and hence banned for 24 months following article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations.
AshantiGold SC and Inter Allies FC are demoted to division 2 for their fixing match-week 34 of 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
