Matchday 26 of 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier League was on, as defending champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko visited Berekum Chelsea at the Berekum City Park for their important fixture.

The Porcupine Warriors launching out a new campaign over a possible 12 points in the next 4 games did not materialize.

The home team coming into the party right from the start of the game made it difficult for the visiting team to have the confidence to grab all three points or a point home.

With the Captain of the Blues, Fuseni Zakaria promising to grab all three at home before the start of the game was indeed the order of the day.

The first department of the game was barren as both teams went out from the pitch without a goal, however, the Blues came back strongly.

The second department saw all three goals from one camp, as Ouattara Kalo gave the home side the lead just 5 minutes into the game.

The visiting team also tried pushing up a bit as they began to dictate the pace of the game after the goal but eventually, Ouattara Kalo doubled the score line for the blues as his tally for the day doubled as well just 8 minutes after breaking the deadlock.

The visiting side took charge after two slaps on the face and they were hopeful of getting a comeback, but a late goal from Ansu Patrick in the 86th minute summed it up for the home side as they prevented the Porcupine Warriors from climbing into the top 4 while they push to 8th position with 37 points.

Making Berekum Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Asante Kotoko their first time scoring 3 goals at home this season.

The last time they scored 3 at Golden City Park was on 30th May 2022 against Elmina Sharks in the 2021/22 league.

The action continues tomorrow and ends on Sunday in Accra.
