Kumasi Asante CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed that he personally sent Maxwell Konadu two videos of Brazilian Fabio Gama and he got impressed.
This development is related to the notion in the media that, Fabio Gama and other players signed by Kotoko were influenced and imposed on coach Maxwell Konadu.
The genius football administrator revealed on Kumasi based Oyerepa FM that “Kotoko couldn’t afford Matthew Anim Cudjoe due to outrageous demands of his managers, there is one equally talented player like Matthew Anim Cudjoe at Phar rangers called Agyakwa, some of my management members wanted me to replace him with Anim Cudjoe but I decided not to bring any Phar Rangers player to Kotoko. We needed a creative player and Fabio Gama was an option. I didn’t impose him on Maxwell, I personally sent his two video clips to Maxwell and we signed him base on Maxwell’s approval”
Asked about why Brazilian importer Fabio Gama is yet to Kick a ball for Kotoko, he said ” I expected Fabio Gama’s work permit to be ready on Friday before Dreams FC league match on Sunday at Dawu but it was ready on Monday I thought he will be available for selection on Wednesday against Al Hilal Omdurman but he wasn’t, I was surprised because we needed a creative player and Fabio Gama is one. I didn’t want to interfere in the coach’s work, if indeed I interfere in player selections, I would have asked the coach why he snubbed Fabio Gama in the Hilal game”
He reiterated that Fabio Gama’s documentations are done and he is available for selection in our subsequent matches.
