Kumasi Asante Kotoko CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed that Kotoko had no sponsorship in “Good standing” before he was appointed to steer the affairs of the club.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s political show dubbed Ekosii sen, he said, ” I will say Kotoko had zero sponsors in good standing before I took over.
Four sponsors were on paper attached to Kotoko but they were just occupying space. The number one major sponsor had suspended payment due to covid”.
“Currently we have secured seven(7) sponsors and three(3) partners and they are all in good standing. We have Hisense, Star assurance, Star life, Goil, Creek, Adonko next level, ticketlake, cedarvite, Veo, Instat and errea as sponsors and partners respectively” he added.
The former Phar rangers owner also pointed out that, Kotoko generate close to five million Ghana cedis (GH5m) annually from its sponsors and admitted that the money isn’t enough hence, there is a massive gap to fill.
