The old ladies of Serie A Juventus were handed their 15-point punishment based on new serious evidence, according to the Federal Court of Appeal’s written reasons.
The court has explained the severity of the deduction has taken “into account the seriousness and repeated and prolonged nature of the offence.”
The decision came in light of the new evidence gathered in a separate criminal case “with confessionary value” such as the “unequivocal (wire-tap) interceptions and further evidence.”
However, Juventus have partially won their appeal against their 15-point deduction and have had the points restored for now.
But the case has been referred to a new appeals court with a hearing expected in a month.
They return to 3rd position of the league log with 59 points, just two points behind second-placed team Lazio.
