According to the 44 years old gaffer, during his first period at Chelsea, he was pushing to grab the signature of the Norwegians forward as he knew the striking department for the Blues was very weak.
“I was pushing big to have Erling Haaland at Chelsea. I’m not sure what the appetite was at the club”.- he said
He added that the competition was great to have him, however, he thought the buy-out clause was reasonable.
“The competition was big because he was an outstanding player. The buyout clause was reasonable. I don’t know how close it was… but I wanted him”.
