It was the last game of the 2022/2023 Betpawa Premier League matchday 32 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as Kumasi-based Kumasi Asante hosted Karela United. Both teams hoping to grab respective goals as the season comes to an end. With the Porcupine Warriors coming into the game after a win over Kotoku Royals last weekend they were hoping to continue their winning streak whereas Karela United were hoping to grab a point away from home as they succeeded in grabbing a point against Accra Great Olympics last week.

The Porcupine Warriors started well in the first department of the game as they managed to get their opener through Mohammed Rashid after gifting the home team the lead as they head into the break with their noses upfront,

The second half began very well for the visitors as they began to dictate the pace of the game as they managed to come back to level terms on 74 minutes via Fatawu Mohammed which eventually gave them a point from Kumasi. The visitors however still sit at the 16th position as they hope to fight for an escape in the relegation zone whereas Kotoko settles down in the top 4.
