It was the day for the football people as the day to address key issues surrounding our sports and management as a whole. Some respected guests were at the Great Hall in Kumasi, among them was the Hon. Minister for Youth and Sports, the president of the Ghana Football Association, Exco members, Club owners, etc. After a long speech from the Ghana Football Association president, these are the highlights of the congress.
· Each Ghana Premier League club will be supported with GHS 50,000 to set up a youth team, as they hope to build juvenile football in Ghana.
· The Ghana Football Association will invest GHS 300,000 in referee fees for the club, thus this will boost the performance of officiating in Ghana.
· Clubs will get GHS25,000 when two youth players feature in more than 15 games.
· Each Division One club will now receive GHS80,000 next season as an incentive.
· The Ghana Football Association will continue to absorb all referee’s fees in the upcoming season.
· Ex- national team players will get a 50% discount on all coaching courses.
· GHS 200,000 to be invested in the catch them young ref policy.
· GHS 100,000 to be invested in Colt’s football.
· The Ghana Football Association is planning to have a coordinating office in Accra to oversee the work of the RFA.
· The Ghana Football Association will give GHS100.000 for the Purchase of football for all regional competitions.
· The Ghana Football Association will provide pickups for Regional FA Chairpersons.
· The Ghana Football Association will contribute GHS 300,000 for payment of officiating at all regional levels.
· The Ghana Football Association will pay GHS 100,000 monthly allowance to regional referee managers.
· Also the RFA Chairman to get GHS 4,000 Monthly and vice chairs will get GHS 1,5000 Per month.
